QUESTIONS / ANSWERS

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a balloon safari last?

The entire experience lasts approximately 4-5 hours from pickup to drop-off. The flight itself ranges from 45 to 90 minutes depending on your package. Allow a full morning for the complete experience including inflation, flight, landing, and bush breakfast.

Is it safe to fly in a hot air balloon?

Absolutely. Hot air ballooning is one of the safest forms of aviation. Our balloons are manufactured by world-leading companies like Cameron and Lindstrand, inspected daily, and operated by licensed pilots with thousands of flight hours. We maintain a 100% safety record since 2005.

What should I wear and bring?

Dress in warm layers for the pre-dawn chill — temperatures can drop to 10°C (50°F). Sturdy closed-toe shoes are essential for landing. Bring a camera with a strap, sunglasses, and a hat. Avoid scarves or loose items that could catch in the wind. All other equipment is provided.

Can children participate in balloon safaris?

Yes, children aged 6 and above are welcome on balloon safaris. Children under 12 receive a 50% discount. All minors must be accompanied by an adult and meet the minimum height requirement of 120cm (4 feet) to see over the basket edge comfortably.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Safety comes first. If weather conditions are unsuitable (high winds, heavy rain, or low visibility), your flight will be rescheduled to the next available day or fully refunded. We monitor forecasts closely and make decisions by 8 PM the evening before your scheduled flight.

Do I need to be fit to ride in a balloon?

Ballooning is accessible to most people. You need to be able to stand for the duration of the flight and climb into the basket (approximately 90cm/3 feet high). Landing requires a slight bending of the knees. If you have mobility concerns, please inform us in advance and we will accommodate you.

Is the champagne breakfast included?

Yes, every package includes a traditional champagne toast upon landing followed by a full bush breakfast. The Platinum package includes vintage Champagne and a gourmet menu. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated with advance notice — just let us know when booking.

How do I book and what is the cancellation policy?

Book online via our website, by phone, or through your lodge. A 30% deposit secures your reservation. Free cancellation up to 14 days before your flight. Cancellations within 14 days are subject to a 50% charge. Weather-related cancellations are fully refundable or reschedulable.
